Residents within properties are asked to refrain from storing personal items within the common areas of their development.
Items stored in common areas can cause serious issues for users of the common landings, stairwells and walkways. Such issues include, but are not limited to:
- Causing an obstruction to residents exiting the building in the event of an emergency.
- Impeding attending emergency services, particularly paramedics that may need to take equipment into a property.
- Combustible items make ready fuel for fires.
- Unsecured items are a risk, as they can fall and cause injury.
Items stored within common areas are done so at residents' own risk and James Gibb, along with other residents, will not take any responsibility for any items that are stolen or damaged. Residents should also check with their contents’ insurers, as storing such items may adversely impact their insurance policy.
