Main Energy Report September 23
- Gas and Electricity Wholesale prices are higher.
- Prices are struggling to find direction with daily swings.
- EU Gas Storage levels remain high at 93% full.
As of the 4th of September, Gas and Electricity Year Ahead Wholesale costs were higher when compared to last month’s report. EU Gas Storage levels have now passed the 90% full target for November, currently at 93% compared to 85% last month and 80% in 2022, when there was concern that there may be Gas shortages during the winter, which caused much of the price volatility. The level of confidence in Gas supplies for winter 2023/24 remains a significant influence on prices. Any indications of extended periods of below average temperatures or Gas supply disruptions, including those piped through Ukraine, will add pressure to costs.....
